Weekly Recap (w4)

Airing Aaron it out
Green Bay Quarterback Aaron Rodgers is #1 among all players in fantasy with 111 points.

We are now 25% through our fantasy regular season and two teams remain undefeated.  The Hunk Hoisters became 4-0 in a game of the week that certainly lived up to the hype.  The now 2-1-1 Big Time Johnson lost a heartbreaker decided in the final seconds of the Sunday night game 104-103.  My Team - also racked up his third victory in a row, going to 3-0-1 with a clear-cut 102-72 win over Run n' Gun.  Point Machine, Donkey Power and Philly's ConVicks all grabbed wins this week.

WEEK 4: Awards
Owner of the week: Donkey Power (127pts)

After starting 0-2, Donkey Power kicked himself back into contention with 127 points, giving us a new owner of this award each of the first four weeks.  DP obviously got most of his production from his quarterback, but also got some welcome production from Ryan Matthews, Dwayne Bowe and top 3 Tight End Jason Witten.  Donkey is now 2-2 on the year and tied for 5th place in the lonely division of the BIG TIME.

Player of the week: Aaron Rodgers, 45 pts (Donkey Power)
It was a beautiful day in Rodger's neighborhood as he made a punchline out of the Denver Broncos defense.  In a world of overpaid athletes it was nice to see at least one "A-Rod" this weekend that wasn't striking out.  Rodgers was so dominant this Sunday he annihilated Wes Welker's previous player high by 11 points.  Just to throw his stat line out there: 408 yards passing, 4 touchdowns and 36 yards rushing with 2 more touchdowns for good measure.
[Honorable Mention: Cam Newton, 31pts]

Double-take Award: Beanie Wells, 31 pts (Fumblers)
Beanie Freakin Wells?!?  Maybe its because his first name is "Beanie," but I have never really taken this guy seriously.  The well ran deep on Sunday as Chris "Beanie" wells ran for not just 3 touchdowns, but 138 yards with a great 5.1 yard-per-carry average.
[Honorable Mention: Pierre Garcon, 26pts]

Coaching move of the week: My Team -
Rick's decision to start Cam Newton against a tough Bears D over Jay Cutler gave him a victory this week.  Newton scored 29 points more than Chicago's most beloved son.

Special Teams Award: Ravens D, 23pts (Big Time Johnson)
The #1 defense in fantasy cemented their position by winning this award for two weeks in a row.  Sadly for Johnson, Ray Lewis and company were bashing heads while sitting on Ryan's bench.  Don't feel too bad though Ryan.  I benched Jamal Lewis the week he set the single-season rushing record of 295 yards back in 2003. And as you can tell, 8 years later and it doesn't bother me at all.
[Honorable Mention: NY Jets, 17 pts]

The Weekly Haha Award: Adrian Peterson, 8pts (Fumblers)
Sadly no one of high regard was that laughable this week.  But as spiderman always said, "with high draft picks come great responsibility." #1 overall pick ADP was underwhelming this week against a Chiefs team he was projected to score 20 on.
[Dishonorable Mention: Maurice Jones-Drew, 8pts]
==========================
I'm in the process of adding a "Stats & Records" page to the blog as well to keep track of some of our greatest accomplishments.  Should be up sometime this week, if its not already.
