Week 6 Recap

The battle of the undefeateds left only My team - standing as the dust settled Monday night.  The minus improves to an impressive 6-0 while team Ott moved to 5-1 after an off week of just 55 points.  The Hoisters, Favre, Johnson, ConVicks and Canadairs also win in week 6.

WEEK 6: Awards
Coach of the week: Hunk Hoisters (127pts)

Its no 139, but The hunk had four big performances out of Vick, Green, Dez Bryant and Antonio Gates.  The much needed win moves him to 3-3 before he essentially forfeits in week 7 due to bye problems.

Player of the week: Aaron Rodgers, 38pts (Big Time Johnson)
Rodgers confirmed his status as a top 3 quarterback by throwing for 6 scores against a very decent Texans defense.  Team Johnson needed the points in a big way and A-Rod's performance helped move him to his first win of the season.
[Honorable Mention: RGIII, 34pts]

Double-take Award: Shonn Greene, 34pts (FKA Favre)
The ex-hawkeye has been one of the most underwhelming starting runningbacks in fantasy football until sunday.  Shonn torched the Colts for 161 and 3 touchdowns making us all question whether  Shonn Green actually has talent or if there is some sort of conspiracy  in play here.
[Honorable Mention: Jordy Nelson 30pts]

Coaching move of the week: Team Otts poor decision to bother starting a team this week.  His top scorers? His defense and kicker with 9 and 16 respectively.  Thats right, his kicker and defense scored 25 of his 55 points.

Special Teams Award: Broncos D, 24pts (Super Natural)
The broncos incredibly second half comeback also helped out team Super Natural.  That is, if bench points counted for anything.
[Honorable Mention: Giants D, 19pts]

The Weekly Haha Award: Phillip Rivers 5pts (Forgetting Brandon Marshall)
Its never good when your quarterback scores 5 fantasy points.  The usually steady Rivers has been wild this year.
[Dishonorable Mention: Jamaal Charles, 4pts]
==========================
Lots of byes in week 7 so good luck making a lineup.  Fortunately for you if they're injured or on bye, I prettymuch own them.

Week 5 Recap

It was a low scoring week as a whole, with just an 86.5 scoring average.  Both undefeateds continued their great streaks including a solid 105 put up by Team Ott to move to 5-0.  The ConVicks, Troy, Favre and Fumblers also pulled out the victory this week.  BigTimeJohnson is still looking for a win at 0-5.

WEEK 5: Awards
Owner of the week: My Team - (139pts)

Holy subtraction batman!  My Team - went to 5-0 with an exclamation point yesterday after putting up the new league high for the year at 139.  Clearly its Ott and minus and then everybody else.

Player of the week: Marques Colston, 31pts (My Team -)
Colston was almost droppable after his first two weeks of the season.  But he picked it up in a big way his last two weeks combining for 52 points and is now the #3 overall receiver.  His numbers this week? 131 yards and 3 trips to paydirt.

[Honorable Mention: Drew Brees, 28pts]

Double-take Award: Alex Smith, 28pts (Hunk Hoisters)
The "game manager" Alex Smith looked legit versus the Bills Sunday tearing them up for 300 yards, 3 TDs and no INTs.
[Honorable Mention: Andrew Luck 28pts]

Coaching move of the week: The Men of Troy start Michael Crabtree as their third receiver over Davon Bess and other choices.  Crabtree struck it big with 17 points in an 11 point win for the team.

Special Teams Award: Bears D, 24pts (My Team -)
The Chicago Bears D is running away with the position as they score another 24 points this week.  Sadly, they were sitting on the bench for the minus or he would've put up 154.
[Honorable Mention: Steelers D, 15pts]

The Weekly Haha Award: Chris Johnson 0pts (Super Natural)
After bringing some hope back to Supernaturalville in week 4, CJ was back to his old tricks again this week.  And by trick I mean scoring zero points.
[Dishonorable Mention: Jimmy Graham, 0pts]

I promise, fun with math coming soon.

Week 4 Recap

Team Ott and the minus are the last undefeateds standing through four weeks of the season.  The minus continues to play at a high level, scoring 127 to win the GOTW over team Favre.  Ott won a little bit of a defensive battle up in Canada in a 79-58 victory, but as they say, a win is a win.  He also improves to 4-0.  Jumbo, Super Natural, Fumblers and Hunk also grabbed a week 4 win.  Now on to this weeks hardware.

WEEK 4: Awards
Owner of the week: Jumbo Gumbo (133pts)
Led by Cam Newton and his 49ers defense, Jumbo Gumbo was hotter than a fox in a Georgia forest fire.  Turner, Peterson, Decker and Amendola all provided double digit fantasy points as the big Gumbo improved to 2-2.  His 133 points ties team Ott as the team high for the season.

Player of the week: Tom Brady, 31pts (Super Natural)
After 3 weeks of mediocrity, Brady was finally Brady against the Bills.  Mr. golden boy had a incredible second half and ended the game with 340 yards passing a 4 TDs.
Dreamy; isn't he.
[Honorable Mention: Cam Newton, 30pts]

Double-take Award: Brian Hartline, 31pts (Super Natural)
Super Natural's wide receiver problem got a little bit better after Hartline's amazing week 4 performance.  Hartline seemed to overachieve with 173 yards as the game was coming to a close.  Then he broke an 80 yard touchdown score to finish with 253 yards and 31 beautiful fantasy points for the super natural.  ...if there was a triple-take award, Hartline would win that this week too.
[Honorable Mention: Brandon Boldin, 20pts]

Coaching move of the week: My Team - starts Peyton Manning over Tony Romo, giving him an extra 19 points.  He won by, you guessed it; 18 points.

Special Teams Award: 49ers D, 29pts (Jumbo Gumbo)
The aforementioned 49ers ate up the Jets to a tune of 29 fantasy points.  The niners were the number one fantasy defense taken at the auction and finally lived up to their preseason value here.
[Honorable Mention: Bears D, 20pts]

The Weekly Haha Award: Darren McFadden 3pts (BigTimeJohnson)
Health seemed to be the only real question for McFadden going into the season.  But run DMC has put up 3 points in two of the first four weeks of the season playing the entire game each time.  The skill seems to be there but until he can prove some level of consistency, McFadden will not be a top 10 back.
[Dishonorable Mention: Julio Jones, 3pts]

Good luck in week 5 everybody!  I'll get a game of the week preview up soon.
